If you have a child, or know anyone who has a child that will be attending kindergarten in the 2025-2026 school year, we will be having an in-person registration on April 25th from 1 - 3 at Mooresburg Elementary School. Please bring your child to meet the kindergarten teachers, receive a kindergarten readiness packet, and get a cute picture of your child signing their intent to attend kindergarten in a photo booth opportunity.

Public Notice - Our Private School and notice for disabilities meeting is scheduled for April 17, 2025 at 9:00A.M. at the Special Education Building, 200 North Depot St. Rogersville, TN.
The Hawkins County School District can receive designated funds each year by the federal government to provide service once agreed upon to students who are eligible to receive special education services. These services include students who are currently being homeschooled or attend a private school in Hawkins County and are eligible for Special Education. The Hawkins County district is required to meet with the administrators of private institutions or parents who are currently home schooling their children in order to discuss what services can be provided.
The Hawkins County School District can provide services for special needs children and young adults, age 3 years to 21 years, who reside within the system's district. If you have or know children who are currently not being served, please contact the Hawkins County Special Education Department at 423-272-7629 Ext. 2405

Mooresburg Elementary STEAM Team was excited to be visited by TVA representatives, Hawkins County Mayor Mark DeWitte, and other congressional representatives as Mooresburg was awarded $5,000 from TVA for our STEAM program and classes.
STEAM teacher and school counselor, Kerry Bloodworth, authored the grant which has already funded purchases of a 3-D printer, electric sensor kits, and Sphero robots to teach coding.
Thank you to Mr. Bloodworth for writing this grant!. Also, thank you to all of our STEAM teachers, Mr. Lawson, Ms. Morgan, Mr. Stevens and Mr. Bloodworth, and our STEAM-driven students for their dedication to making our program the best it can be!

Summer Learning Camp will take place for four weeks, four days a week, between May 27 - June 19 from 7:30-2:30 p.m. This camp will focus on rising 1st-grade students through rising 9th-grade students. Parents will be notified of acceptance before the start of summer camp. Transportation will be made available daily. Breakfast and lunch will be served as part of the program. Yearbook orders are due tomorrow the 14th by 9am if paying with cash or check. $20/book We will be at school until 6:30 pm this afternoon, due to parent teacher conferences, if you want to bring your payment by the office.

We were fortunate to host Career and Technical Education (CTE) representatives from Cherokee High School today, who provided engaging presentations on nursing, automotive technology, NJROTC, agriculture, industrial maintenance, robotics, and education.

The State Board of Education Approved Textbooks are available for review on the Tennessee Department of Education website here. In addition, samples can be reviewed on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.at McPheeters Bend School, 1115 Goshen Valley Road, Church Hill.
